The Great Outdoors
Monkey is starting to appreciate the wonders of the great outdoors! Here she is saying hello and getting some sniffing in. She is doing great with her house training and hasn't had an accident all day! She is also doing better with loud noises and is much less skittish. Awesome progress for a dog that was shaking outside on Saturday! Go Monkey!

Potty Progress!
Monkey made huge progress today and went potty off leash in the backyard! She still submissive pees sometimes at night since she's still a little afraid of the dark, but her being comfortable enough to go outside and prance around in the backyard during the day is huge!!! She is on her way and I'm so proud of her!
Monkey Kisses
More kisses from Monkey today. I've been working on my lesson plans and Monkey has been doing her best to distract me with belly rubs and kisses all afternoon. I have to admit it's working... Who could resist those eyes?!

Antler Fun
Monkey is really getting comfortable and gaining her confidence! Today she started to chew on antlers and play.
Cute-ing
Monkey is always doing what I like to call cute-ing. Whenever she sees you she starts to roll over on her back and squirm around pawing at you for affection. Whoever adopts this sweetheart better be prepared to give this cutie LOTS of belly rubs!

Movie Night
Sunday night is a time to relax before the week starts all over again, so I decided to watch a movie and Monkey jumped up on the couch and took a seat with me. She wanted extra belly rubs and feel asleep on my lap. She is such a silly Monkey!

Meeting Monkey
I met Monkey today at an adoption event. She was the shy, scared pup shaking in her volunteer's arms. I love these dogs. People too often overlook them, but they are truly treasures. Shy babies just waiting to blossom into beautiful, loving dogs. They just need a little extra patience and a whole lot of love. Monkey is one of those special dogs. You can tell when you look into her big brown eyes.
By the time we left the adoption event, Monkey's tail was starting to wag as I carried her to the car. She could tell something good was coming... She started to lick my fingers and when we got home she began to prance around the house with that tail up and wagging full speed. I sat down at the computer and she put her paws on my lap as if to say "Hello, you there! Pet me!" She licked my nose in exchange for some extra ear rubs and we were friends.
After a long day and a full dinner, Monkey was ready to nap and nap she did. She is still very nervous outside, but she is opening up in leaps and bounds. She gets along great with our pups and is a wonderful addition to our pack.
